I also like reading about other peoples setups, as I can often grab helpful little tips. I’m glad to see someone else recommending Backblaze.
I don’t back up the entire 1.5 TB of Drobo stuff to Backblaze (although someday I would like to), because I don’t think it would finish in my lifetime. I back up the really irreplaceable things: iPhoto library, iTunes library, and personal documents. This is still a fair chunk of data (I think about 300-400 GB), and apart from the lousy upstream performance from Comcast, it all seems to be backing up successfully.
For what it’s worth, I backed up my Drobo (plus another external HD) which totalled just over 1.5GB, and it took somewhere between 3-4 weeks to do it all (on Comcast, with the Backblaze throttle set far to the ‘faster backups’ side).
